Meet Lucky

Yesterday we were looking for a few bits and pieces for the apartment when I saw a cute little puppy all alone hiding underneath a bench in front of a church. Even though there are a lot of stray dogs running all over Santiago, I still haven’t been desensitized to the sight of homeless dogs. This one broke my heart. I can sorta handle (not really) seeing adult dogs roaming the streets. But a tiny 2 month old puppy? How could he find food? How could he survived in the middle of a tough neighborhood? I looked and asked around for possible owners, for his mom, for anyone that might be responsible for him…with no success. What else could I have done? I picked him up and brought him home with me. I know I know I’m crazy. But I just couldn’t do otherwise. So now we have Lucky at home. I took him to the vet yesterday and he’s in pretty good shape, the vet thinks he was dumped by someone, as he was in pretty good shape to have been on the streets – no fleas, ticks, cuts, bruises or diseases. We bathed him and she gave him some meds and he was discharged with a clean bill of health! And now I have to find him a home. Please pray that lucky finds a wonderful home here in Santiago. Thank you so much!!!
